The Houston Chronicle posted this article about the case.

Asian family accuses CPS of not understanding, says boy was safe

It's definitely available online and possibly in the print version of the Chronicle for today.

Man, major discussion under the article. Good stuff but lots of crap from people just adding their 2 cents but not knowing anything.

Well, it goes to show that this topic is an interesting one.
Posters just keep slamming the family but who they really need to blame is CPS. They are the ones that screwed this up. Why fault the mentally ill mother, she was just reacting to someone threatening to take her child away. I for sure would be putting up a fight with whoever takes my child away. There seems to be a lack of understanding the mentally ill. It is a shame because it affects so many people.
Has anyone asked why CPS can grant custody to a drug addicted parent but deny the rights to the family of the mentally ill? And whoever said that the family would return the baby back to the mentally ill mother??? From my understanding of what I have read, the mother is hospitalized most of time and the Aunt that wants to adopt the baby does not even live here, she lives in Arizona.
The Houston Chronicle in print says a lot more than the blurb online but the information on this website has most of the information.

Not only does Auntie Connie live in Arizona (not Texas, where the mother lives) but so does the biological father, who DID file for custody of his son, who DID pass the Arizona CPS home study in November 2006. Therefore, Raymond could live in Arizona, surrounded by his aunt, uncle, cousins and father, well away from the mother with her mental illness.
And by the way, apparently the mother is relatively "normal" at some times -- normal enough for CPS to allow her at least 12 visits with her son. Even though she certainly shouldn't have custody of her son, she should still be allowed to continue visitation with him under controlled circumstances. IF Raymond is permitted to be adopted by the foster family, they could very likely cut off all visitation with all family members.
Based on a very nasty comment written by the foster father in on the the ABC articles (where he taunted the biological family) I would say that the foster family is NOT so nice, they are clearly hostile to the biological family, and they will very likely NOT permit any further association of Raymond with his Granny, Mom, Dad, Aunts, Uncles or Cousins. This needs to be fought against.

Whoa! It would be sad if the foster family would not allow visits. However, nobody knows for sure if that would happen. Do you know is the foster family is allowing visits now? or if the biological family is even visiting Raymond now?
I'm interested in reading the "nasty comment" by the foster father. Where can that be found?

The comment was by the foster father, Roy, in the Miya Shay blog. Here's the link

If you scroll down through the comments, you can find Roy's comment posted on Sept. 21, which is a hostile attack on Tony, in which he accuses Tony and Connie of lying in court. This is how he ends the comment:
"The jury has decided good luck getting that overturned!"
